President and Chief Executive Officer
Denise Portmann was named President and Chief Executive Officer of Bank of the Pacific, the wholly owned subsidiary of Pacific Financial Corporation in January 2014. Denise is also a member of Pacific’s executive management team. Prior to January 2014, Denise was the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the Bank and has served as Treasurer for the Company. Denise joined the Bank in 2001 as Senior Vice President and Controller. Prior to joining the Bank, Denise served as Chief Financial Officer for Harbor Community Bank from 1999 to 2001. In addition to banking experience, Denise is a Certified Public Accountant and was an auditor in the public accounting sector for Knight, Vale and Gregory from 1995 to 1999, specializing in the financial institutions industry. She currently serves on the Board of Trustees for Grays Harbor College
Executive Vice-President, Chief Financial Officer
Carla joined the Bank in August 2019. Carla brings over 20 years of demonstrated leadership and accounting experience, spending 15 years with Skagit Bank as their Executive Vice-President/ Chief Financial Officer overseeing all finance, accounting, marketing, facilities and risk management functions of the organization. Carla has been recognized throughout her career as a collaborative leader with strong institutional knowledge in the accounting and finance arena. She is also a Certified Public Accountant. Carla earned her B.S. Degree in Accounting at Northeast Missouri State University, Kirksville, MO (Summa Cum Laude) and is an honors graduate of Pacific Coast Banking School in Seattle, WA. She is very active in the community as a board member of Soroptimist International of Burlington and WE Ignite, as well as a former board member of United Way of Skagit County and former President of Skagit Habitat for Humanity, Women Build.
Executive Vice President, Chief Credit Officer
Dan joined the Bank in May 2017 and was formerly with HomeStreet Bank in Yakima, Washington serving as Senior Vice President/Eastern Washington Regional President, overseeing relationship-based commercial banking. Dan also was EVP/ Chief Credit Officer with Whidbey Island Bank, and has held other progressively responsible positions with U.S. Bank, Washington Mutual and Wells Fargo throughout the Pacific Northwest.
Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer
Tom joined the Bank in April 2019 and was formerly with Community Bank in Pasadena California serving as Executive Vice President / Chief Operating Officer and Chief Information Officer overseeing Retail Operations, Central Operations, Information Technology, Vendor Management, Project Management Office and Facilities until Community Banks merger with Citizens Bank of Ontario. Tom also held increasingly responsible positions with Bank of America, Countrywide Financial and Homestore.com in Southern California. With a solid reputation for delivering forward-thinking technology initiatives that efficiently meet diverse, operational and industry needs, Tom has strategic and tactical planning capabilities that serve well in fast-paced environments experiencing rapid change through internal growth, acquisition, and turnaround. Tom is also a U.S. Navy veteran.
Executive Vice President, Commercial Banking Manager
Walker has managed the bank’s Commercial Banking group since 2012. He joined Bank of the Pacific in 2004 when he served first as an area manager for all retail and commercial lines of business in the bank’s northern market. Prior to Bank of the Pacific, Walker’s thirty year career includes increasingly responsible managerial positions in commercial banking at Security Pacific, West One Bank, and Washington Mutual, as located throughout the greater Puget Sound market.
