It’s Time To Change Your Password!

online identity theftVerizon reports 81% of hacking related breaches stem from weak or stolen passwords.  It is important to change your passwords often and make them at least 10 characters long with a number and symbol included.

  • A suggestion to help you remember your longer password would be to use a Pass Phrase that incorporates the recommended characters and symbols. For example: “IoftheT!ger” .

Pew Research finds 86% of people memorize their passwords, while 49% write them down on paper and 24% save them in a note on a computer or mobile device. Also, younger generations tend to be far more lax about the passwords they use than older generations, so special emphasis there is a good idea.

Change your passwords and then remind your children to change theirs!
